Roar! Hiss! Oo-oo-ah-ah!

Preface to this post: It is really a shame that people are too busy to blog during the summer. The summer months are some of our family's most exciting, and I love to blog about our family adventures. I do it as a type of journaling I guess ... so if you found yourself with some down time on your hands and you're reading this post, I am happy you stopped by our blog for a minute or two!

On to the post at hand ...

Larkin loves animals! She meows when she sees cats, she chases dogs, she even channels a little howler monkey from time to time at home.

We headed to the Sacramento zoo as a family and had a blast! Larkin loved the animals as long as they would move or make noises. We went in the morning, so the animals were active and many of them were eating breakfast.

The Sacramento zoo is on the smaller side, which turned out to be a blessing since Larkin wanted to walk the entire time.

It has been so nice to have Scot home more this summer. I know it wont last forever, but for now I am eating up all the daddy-daughter time Larkin and Scot are getting.

Roar! Hiss! Oo-oo-ah-ah! Ribitt! Sqwak!
Translation: "it was a GREAT day!"

larkin has a bff

Larkin has a good friend, and it is so sweet.

Larkin makes friends quickly and easily. It is one of her gifts. Kids at this age are still pretty unaware of each other for the most part, but Larkin loves her little playmate!

Thanks Zollweg family for being such great friends! :)

I Love the Mountains! I Love the Rolling Hills!

I have been working on a monster project since March ... GIRL"S CAMP!

I love nature, so I was excited about being able to spend a week tromping through the dirt and bathing in bug spray. All in all, it was a successful week. There were silly moments and spiritual moments. There were bugs and smores. There were blisters and headaches. There were hikes and campfires.

And there you have it!

Now I can think about all the other things I have planned to do this summer :)
